Soooo I’m loving these two iPhone applications at the moment so I thought I would share them with you while I have a few moments this lunch time. One was recommended to me by a friend at work its called 360 and its basically a photo application which allows you to take 360 degree pictures of your surroundings, much more interesting than a regular picture see my little pic below of my office!

The second one is for those of you who like to reminisce of days gone past but cant be bothered to write it down. It’s called Day One and is effectively a diary which you can not only write about the days events etc but you can add pictures, locations and weather to as well. It also backs up automatically to your iCloud so if you loose your phone or get a new one it will all be stored there!

Earlier this year I blogged about Etsy where I had bought some handmade rings which used to be silvers spoons! See the post here. There is so much on there that I thought I would have a little scout around for some gems! I might even make it a regular feature.

Let me know if you want me to hunt anything down for you just leave a comment!

This review is about Clinique’s Even Better Skin Tone Correcting range…if you couldn’t already tell. My skin scars easily once I’ve had blemishes and I’m pretty much stuck with marks for the next few months. It only tends to fade with a lot of exfoliation which I’m not keen on as then my skin gets ridiculously dry. I decided to invest in the Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector serum a few months back and was really impressed with the results. My scars were fading much quicker. The product feels really nice on your skin and can be worn under make-up. My lovely Mum then bought me the Even Better Skin Tone Moisturiser for my Birthday a few months later. Yay! The moisturiser isn’t heavy on the skin and you don’t need to use a lot so I’m hoping my pot will last me a while.

I would highly rate these products over any other Skin Tone Correctors I’ve tried. The serum is £39.00 and the moisturiser is £35.00 but well worth it if your fed up of applying foundation to cover the dark spots and scars which inevitably will cause more spots as your clogging up pores it’s just a vicious cycle! Read all about the range and how it works here.

Review Time, right, I treated myself to this when I went on a bit of Birthday shopping spree last month (if you know me I tend to go on ‘a bit of spree’ most months but as it was my birthday money I was spending I could justify it). The product was pretty much sold to me as soon as I squeezed a bit of the tester onto my hand to be honest so the YSL sales rep really didn’t have to say much before I said the words “I’ll take one of those”.

This is a mattifying primer which is dual purpose, it is especially good for those who tend to have oily or combination skin, which I do get on my T-Zone as the day goes on. The velvety texture of this is absolutely amazing it also brightens and smoothes your skin to create the perfect base before applying your foundation. It also can be worn by itself to give a matte finish to your skin if your lucky enough not to need any foundation. I really would recommend it and don’t let the price tag of £30.00 put you off, the tube is pretty big and you don’t need much at all just apply to the problem areas. I’ve been using this now for a month or so and so far no problems to report as far as skin irritation or increased amount of blemishes, infact…touch wood, my skin is looking pretty good at the moment! Hoorah!

I also invested in one of the YSLTouche Éclat concealer pens – all I can say is I won’t be buying any other concealer again- ever. Even though I am a massive fan of the Benefit ‘Boing’ concealer, the Touche Éclat completely out does it. Though it is a few pounds more expensive than Boing at £21.00 but definitely worth it.

Ebay can be your best friend when your looking for on-trend pieces to update your wardrobe, so I decided to do a little guide for you guys that are a little Ebay shy!

A lot of the Ebay shops sell wholesale items which usually means they have many sizes of the same thing and there is no need to bid- hooray! The best way to find these items is by selecting the ‘Size not specified’ and ‘Buy it Now’ options in the filters. Also if you see something you like by one particular seller it always pays to check out all their stock on their Ebay shop as there is usually discounted postage for more than one item. You may also find that the international sellers will have free postage anyway, however it does take around 12-24 days for the item to reach you but its worth it for the low price you will have paid.

Now I have done some of the hard work for you and have scoured Ebay to find some key pieces for this summer. All the links are below. I may be doing a jewellery specific Ebay guide soon as there were too many lovely items to select just one so keep your eyes peeled!

I am so excited to be escaping to Dubai on Monday I thought I would get everyone in the holiday spirit and ready for some sunshine whether its here (fingers crossed) or abroad. I have compiled a little guide to bikini buying. When I buy a bikini for myself I tend to go for a halter spaghetti strap which can detach, something that provides a little more padding up top and a balconette style. I would advise you to spend a little more if you want them to last a couple of years. A company which I have not featured below but would highly recommend is Insight, they can be found as a concession at Urban Outfitters and on Asos.

A style I would not recommend is the triangle bikini for many reasons…they are un-supportive, give the worst tan-lines and quite frankly are very risky when being thrown in pools! Ban them all!! Anyway I think I have provided some good alternatives below for all shapes and sizes!

All the links can be found below.

I cannot tell you enough how easy this is! There are endless designs to try and the even better news is it wont break the bank. It’s a great way to add interest to an outfit especially if you have to dress conservatively for work. Below are few ideas and products that are around at the moment including nail transfers, gems & pens. I have also selected a few videos of how to do some of the designs.

1. SuperDrug 2. Miss Selfridge 3. Miss Selfridge 4. TOPSHOP 5. TOPSHOP 6.Nail Rock

This is the video I used to learn how to do the Leopard Nails I posted about a while ago here.

This is a good one for the galaxy nail trend thats around at the moment (You may want to turn the sound off you’ll see why…)

Finally a really simple one is the polkadot part of this tutorial but if you feel confident enough try the bows too. Try using a liquid eyeliner for the black like in the above tutorial its much easier to rub off if you make a mistake.

On Saturday I was sold one of these sets by a lovely young man in the Cheltenham House of Fraser branch. He demonstrated the block nail file on my mum’s thumb. I couldn’t believe how shiny he made it in under 30 seconds! He then said that this would last up to two weeks. I was sold at this point but he went on to show us the file came with three other items in a set which included cuticle oil, hand lotion and a regular nail file. He was retailing them for £30.00 but he knocked it down to £25.00 each as we bought three sets. If you don’t wear nail varnish very often or even if you wear it too much this is a great set to keep your nails looking healthy in-between polishes. I would definitely recommend it, even though it is a little pricey for a nail set its defiantly worth it. Heres a link to the Gadi 21 site where you can purchase one of these sets.

And here is a picture of my nails after the treatment… (apologies for my hands, they aren’t very nice)

For anyone that’s ever nearly drawn blood whilst trying to apply pencil eyeliner that’s too blunt (and there is never a sharpener around!) You need one of these in your lives. The new Models Own Kohl Eyeliner now has a sharpener built into the lid. The blade is very well protected so there’s no way you can accidentally cut yourself on it whilst rumaging around in your makeup case. I think for £5.00 it is also very good value for money and after its finished you can pop the lid on any pencil eyeliner you might buy in the future! Well I think its great! Click here to visit the Models Own site.

These images are taken from the ASOS website as I forgot to photograph it before I started using it and the picture on models own is tiny!

After being pretty disappointed with the last few glossy boxes I received, I have decided to end my subscription to GlossyBox UK. I was  more impressed at the beginning with the variety of samples I was receiving but more recently there has been an increase in the amount of body lotion and perfume samples. So I thought I would save up the products that I thought were interesting enough to write about and do one final post. So here are my favourite from the last 3 boxes…

From Right to Left:

Versace Vanitas Murad Fragrance £45/30ml

This is what I call a sample! I was really impressed with this which I received in my March Glossy Box, I think this is how all perfume samples should be; miniatures of the larger size. The little lid even had the same engraving detail as the full size one. I actually dont mind the smell, it lasts longer than perfumes I have had before and not over powering. I’m not sure if I would buy a ful size bottle, but it’s worth trying a spritz.

BM Beauty Pure Mineral Eye Shadow £7.00

I received a really nice shade of this eyeshadow in Storm Cloud which is a really nice blue/grey, here a better picture of how it looks on the BM Beauty website, not really something I would wear for day time bit perfect for blending in with a black for a smokey eye. Not too keen on the packaging, it makes it look a bit cheap but the actual product is very nice.

Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer £29.00

I loved the size and packing of this little treat. Really like using a primer, it makes your skin feel so silky before you cover it in foundation!   As its a miniature pump bottle I squirted a little out onto my hand, I was surprised to see that unlike usual primers it was beige and a little darker than my skin-tone instead of a clear liquid. Once applied however, you wouldn’t even know you had it on, the colour just blends in with your natural skin tone and provides a soft velvety base for your foundation. Very expensive for the full size bottle, I find it very difficult to justify spending over £20 on one make item unless its a foundation.

Lancome Teint Miracle Natural Light Creator Bare Skin Perfection SPF 15 £27

As I’m currently using the Dior Flawless Perfection Liquid foundation, which I am finding a little heavy for everyday wear, I’m keen to find a alternative which is a little lighter as the summer draws closer (Hooray!). This one from Lancome seems to be ticking all the boxes really. Its a dream to apply and provides the perfect amount of coverage without looking like a barbie doll. Natural is the way forward! And its comes under the £30 foundation budget, bonus! For now I shall be using every last drop in my very generous sample bottle.

Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner £9.50

I received this pencil eyeliner in the midnight blue shade in my January Box. I really love the colour, but the long metal tip on the end is just not practical (when you have a tiny handbag like I do). There also dosen’t seem to be any reason as to why its there, it just makes it look more expensive but essentially it does the same job as a regular eyeliner. Sorry Eyeko, design fail there.

So this is the last of my Glossybox reviews for now. I shall keep an eye on what they do it the next few months but they really need to sort out the selection in the boxes and not so much body lotion, theres only so many mini bottles of moisturiser you can fit on your bathroom shelf!

I treated myself to a few new rings and a new statement necklace this month. I searched for a long time for the right one and finally decided on this one from Accessorize, looks completely different in real life to how it looks on the website, tut tut! But I’m pleased with it anyway. Really want a silver one now so I will get snooping.

Two of the rings are from this amazing little shop on Etsy called Sugar Plum Stitches which turns old spoons into rings! I had to get my dad to resize them as I slightly miscalculated my ring size. The leafy one is from one of the many vintage sellers on there and was only £4! Theres loads of bargains to be had you just need to have a good old browse.

This little beetle ring is from the ASOS Marketplace. I would also really recommend having a look through the accesories section for some great one of a kind pieces.

I’m a big fan of the Models Own polishes for the amount of colours they offer, the fact you can get three for £10 on the Models Own website and the drying time is next to nothing! I recently purchased these two shades; Purple Poppy and Snow White which I love and I got a free Model’s Own Nail Art pen in Black. Well I’m glad it was “free” as I wasn’t too impressed with the drying time, as it did not dry at all. It was however very easy to use and I was able to create some really precise designs with it, just a shame that my hard work was ruined nearly two hour after when I had to hitch my tights up and the black smudged all down my nails! I’m sticking to my trusty cheap 17 liquid eyeliner for now for creating my nail designs!

Purple Poppy and Snow White

I saw the MUA Love Heart’s Nail polish in “U ROK” (third from the left) whilst reading another blog and thought I’d check out their website. I was pleasantly surprised by how cheap they were. So I decided to buy that and another 3 colours. It came to a total of £6 for 4 polishes, you really can’t argue with that. It does need a good couple of coats but theres great range of colours to choose from, check out the Nail varnish range here.

Mascara is essential in every woman’s make- up bag and you can soon find yourself wasting money on bad ones. So I thought I’d write about a few I’ve tried and tested!

Soap and Glory- Thick and Fast (currently free with this month’s ELLE magazine) usually £10.00

I was a little weary of this one, usually when something is free it’s normally for a reason. Unfortunately this freebie hasn’t broke the mould. The brush promises great big thick lashes with no clumps, its even got a rubber brush which I normally would have every faith in, but for some reason all I kept getting was clumps, I also found it didn’t not lengthen my lashes anywhere near as much as other mascara’s I have used. It’s real shame as it was free! I haven’t tried any other products in Soap and Glory’s make up range, but I have to say this has put me off a little. They probably need to stick to making the soap! (O dear- it’s been a long day)

Blink+ Go Long Lasting Mascara – Free with my December Glossy Box- Usually

I didn’t give a particularly in-depth review on this in my December Glossy Box as I hadn’t actually used it yet. However due to an emergency mascara drought in my house I gave it a go! The solution is very thick and you can really feel it weighing your lashes down, it also made my top and bottom lashes stick together a bit. Not an pleasant feeling. The worst was yet to come, trying to remove the mascara was very difficult after I had washed my face with cleanser,  it began to peel off my lashes like the glue you get on the front of a magazine gluing a free gift to it. Rather painful to remove actually. Would definitely not recommend this to anyone who wants keep all their eyelashes!

MaxFactor False Lash Effect – Full Lashes Natural Look- £10.99

This is basically the best mascara I have ever brought. I would swear by it every time. It gives you length without clumps, definition and just enough thickness without being over the top for the day- time. I would trust any of the Maxfactor mascaras to be honest, I’ve used the Fusion and the Master Piece and I was really impressed with both. I would urge you to try this to see for yourself!

Last Friday the New U.S. comedy tv series ‘New Girl’ went out on Channel 4. I managed to get hold off the first 9 episodes which have already aired in the U.S. and have already watched them all. The show is centered around Zooey Deschanel’s character Jess who after a break-up, moves in with 3 guys. She’s a little bit crazy but you can’t help but love her! I found myself falling in love with her wardrobe whilst watching it for 4 hours straight, so I’ve put together a few items to recreate some of her looks from the show.

Annoyingly as is always the case with the American TV shows there is now a massive break before the second half of the series comes out! Meanwhile I’ll be watching all the episodes again on Ch4 at 8.30pm on Fridays (repeated on a Saturday at 11.50am incase you miss it!) I would throughly recommend watching it. Hope you find it as funny as I did! Episode 4 is brilliant!
